A Wild Ride: Buying A Classic Ford Mustang

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Monday 27 July 2009 2:55 pm

Well, I haven’t so much had any time to post on the weblog quite as often as I’d planned, owing to the fact that I have been roped into helping my Dad fuel his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. True, some would argue it’s not as crazy as it could be. Basically how he showed up was to get himself dressed up like fonzie, and drop by to my house and casually inform me, in his jazziest possible vocal tone: “Get ready, bro, we’re gonna start cruising for some classic Ford Mustangs for sale. You got it, my boy, I intend to buy one.”

And so him and me went out to a few of those crazy vintage car showrooms that I’m just about convinced are part of some organized crime ring, and I see the crazy old guy cut a check right there on the spot, for an alarmingly well-preserved classic Ford Mustang. I mean, it really is quite car. It sounded great too.

Notice that I said that last sentence in the past tense. It sounded really nice right until it seized up completely. The old man maintains that it’s a really quick problem and he just needs the right part. Only thing is, it can’t possibly be as easy to locate classic Ford Mustang parts as it was over a million years ago, but my Dad insists that there is a pretty nice-sized availability for them regardless. From what I’m told the best place to find parts for 1966 Mustangs is actually online auctions, since you can find them all refurbished and sometimes as good as new. They might not be that inexpensive, however… Think about it, we’re talking about 30-year-old car parts.

I guess it could’ve been worse… It would’ve been worse if he’d bought himself a volkswagen bus.

Golf Practice Aids

What is a Golf Swing Launch Monitor?

In baseball, a speed gun similar to what police use to check on the speed of motorists is used to check the speed of a pitch. In golf, a device called a golf swing launch monitor is one of many golf practice aids used to study the swing aspect in a game.

Golf swing aids are designed to tell a golfer why the ball is flying in a certain direction after the golfer hits it with the club. With the information gathered, the golfer will know what is wrong so the appropriate changes can be made.

How it works is by compiling the data comprising of more than 100 swings made by the golfer. Professionals are not the only ones who use this data because even amateurs use this as well.

Now that these are produced by various companies, it is easy to find one when you go to a sporting goods store.

But what must the golf swing launch monitor have when you go out looking for one? It must be able to tell you the following information which includes ball speed, club head speed, face impact position, flight time, launch angle and yards off line.

But what does the information tell you exactly? Well, if your ball speed isn’t in proportion with your club head speed, this means that you are not hitting the ball as far as you want it to go. Ideally, there should be a 1:1.5 ratio between these two. In simple terms, a club head speed of 100 mph will let you make the ball travel at 150 mph.

If you think getting this number is easy, think again because most professionals are only able to hit a 1:1.4 ratio. If your numbers are way off, do your best to try and achieve this number.

Another thing to watch out for in the golf swing launch monitor is the launch angle. The lower it is the better because this will make the ball travel farther. Tiger Woods who is one of the best golfers of all time launches at 12 degrees. Should you do the same? Not necessarily but if this works for you, then why not.

There are other indicators that can tell you more about your golf swing but take note that these will cost a bit more. These devices can even tell you the average of your shots in various areas and compare them which will helpful to improve your game.

This monitor has Golf swing software that can be even be hooked up to your computer which is even better.

Of course to achieve the right angle and speed, it has a lot to do with your technique. There are other tools you can get to help you practice your golf swing like hiring a coach, practicing in front of a mirror, recording yourself and putting some of the aids on.

Will this make you play better? In most cases yes so you should consider using them if you are still not able to improve your game like you have hoped.

Years ago, there was no machine that could analyze your golf swings. We should be happy then with tools like the golf swing launch monitor because you are no longer guessing if you are doing well or not when everything can be seen in the numbers.

The Definitive Guide to Bathroom Mirrors

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Saturday 25 July 2009 3:12 pm

Introduction

Central to the mythology of mirrors is Narcissus a Boeotian hero, who disliked those who loved him for his own natural beauty. He famously gazed into a pool of water and was so fascinated with the reflection, that he was unable to bring himself to leave the image. Not realising that the image he could see was of his own natural beauty, he couldn’t bring himself to leave the image, and he perished.

The concept of how the mirror works is quite simple. It stems simply from the reflective surface of still water and therefore nature plays its part. When you look down into a puddle or a dark pool of water, the smooth water reflects the light straight back into your eyes.

Mirrors work in exactly the same way, in that a mirror is made up of a coated glass surface which when a polished metal surface or metal film is applied behind the glass, light cannot shine through and so reflects the image back. Young children particularly, are always fascinated when they look into a mirror for the first time and see their own reflection staring back at them. Anyone who has young children will remember the vision of their young daughter kissing their image on a mirror. My eight year old daughter loves sitting in front of her mirror doing her hair nearly as much as my fifteen year old daughter!

Where would we be today without mirrors? Mirrors are generally used for personal grooming or interior decoration and have developed from a luxury item into a necessity. There is an enormous variety of mirror shapes and sizes and over the years, mirrors have gradually evolved to meet many different requirements. Today there is a large selection of mirrors to suit every requirement, ranging from small mirrors to large mirrors, framed, unframed and includes bathroom mirrors, decorative mirrors, illuminated mirrors, LED mirrors, shaving mirrors, make up mirrors and demister mirrors.

Away from personal use, mirrors are also used as part of scientific apparatus such as cameras, lasers, telescopes and periscopes, to reflect light and used as tools in dentistry and medical care.

History of Mirrors

The history of mirrors as far as we can see dates back over 8,000 years. The earliest known mirrors were made from pieces of polished stone such as obsidian, a naturally occurring glass from cooled volcanic lava flows. In Anatolia in Turkey, examples of obsidian mirrors dated at around 6000 BC have been found. In south and central America, polished stone mirrors from around 2000 BC on wards have also been found. From around 3000 BC mirrors of polished copper are known to have been crafted in ancient Egypt. In China bronze mirrors were manufactured from around 2000 BC.

The first metal coated glass mirrors are thought to have been made in the first century AD, in Sidon, known today as Lebanon. The Roman author Pliny makes reference to glass mirrors backed with gold leaf in his Naturalis Historia, one of the largest reference books to have survived from the Roman Empire, which focused on natural and man-made objects and was written in around 77 AD.

In the 10th Century Arabian Physicists, considered different types of mirrors, reflecting mirrors and parabolic mirrors and another discussed concave and convex mirrors in both cylindrical and spherical geometries. In undertaking various experiments with mirrors, finding the point on a convex mirror at which a ray of light coming from one point is reflected to another point was solved.

During the period of the 14th to 17th Centuries, across Europe a method of coating glass with a tin-mercury amalgam was perfected by manufacturers. Venice was recognised for its glass making expertise and soon became a centre of mirror production using this new technique. Glass mirrors from this period were extremely expensive luxuries. Manufacturers also evolved in London, France and Germany.

The particular process of silvering to produce the first silvered-glass mirror is credited to German chemist Justus von Liebig in 1835. He developed a process to apply a thin layer of metallic silver onto glass through the chemical reduction of silver nitrate. The process was adapted for mass production and led to the greater availability of affordable mirrors.

The evolution of the mirror over the years is quite interesting, if like me you love mirrors! It has developed from a luxury item to an item which is now taken for granted in daily use. Today, walk into any wholesaler to look at mirrors and the selection is vast, with many technology features now finding there way into mirrors, to give added simplicity, luxury and decoration.

The range of illumination, LED lighting and bathroom mirror demisters is wide and varied.

How are Mirrors Made?

The manufacture of mirrors includes the application to a suitable material of a reflective coating. Glass is the most common material, due to its ability to take a smooth finish and its rigidity. Glass is also more scratch resistant than many other materials.

Early mirrors were made of solid metal, bronze or silver and they were far too expensive for many. Metal is also prone to corrosion and because of polished metal’s low emissivity, antique mirrors were less suitable for indoor use. With indoor lighting at the time supplied by candles or lanterns, the metal mirrors reflected a much darker picturecompared to modern glass mirrors.

In modern times ‘float glass’ is used in the manufacture of mirrors, which is a flat ribbon of glass which is run out of a furnace and along the surface of a bath of molten tin. The temperature of both the glass and molten tin is controlled to enable both surfaces to be made perfectly flat. There are now three common types of mirrors: plain – which has a flat surface, and the two spherical types of mirrors: the convex and the concave. The concave and convex mirrors can be used in an entertaining way, when used at fairgrounds or amusement parks to distort peoples figures reflected in them through bloating, stretching and shrinking, the person or object in front of them.

In some applications, a mirror isn’t a mirror at all. For example, when used in public conveniences, particularly in public or factory toilets, where for reasons of cost and the need for greater durability, a single polished metal sheet is often installed as a form of mirror.

Different Types of Mirror

Throughout the ages, mirrors have been employed as symbols of truth, deception and vanity. Mention a mirror and you instantly know that if you look into one, you will see your own reflection staring back at you. The image you see will resemble your own appearance. In optical principles, the reflections in mirrors do not totally match the objects in front of them. When looking into the mirror, trace the contour of the reflection of your head in a mirror. The reflection may correspond in proportion, but will generally be half in actual size.
With such a variety and huge range of mirrors now available, much has been made of the amount of money spent in purchasing mirrors especially by women, although in this day and age with an increase in men purchasing cosmetics, some men will also be vain enough to carry a mirror.

The vain Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs famously asked her special mirror, “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Mirrors are synonymous with truth.
Mirrors are frequently used in interior decoration to create an illusion of space, and to decorate and amplify the apparent size of a room. They will be used around the home, the office, a pub, club or restaurant to good effect. They work particularly well in night clubs, reflecting the many images of light in the club or room to create a feeling of a much bigger space.

Infinity Mirrors provide an effect of never reaching an end, known as ‘infinity breaking’ and are particularly effective when used in a dark environment. I remember experiencing this phenomenon for the first time as a child in a large department store lift, where mirrors where on all sides of the elevator car. For those who are not good in lifts I should think this effect probably does nothing to calm them, perhaps that’s why you don’t see lifts like this anymore Or is it just because I’m getting old and that was a particular style popular in the 70’s!

My next favourite kind of mirror after the infinity mirror is the heated mirror, these mirrors have a heating element or what is called a demister pad mounted on the back. The reason a mirror steams up when you have a shower is because the surface temperature of the mirror is colder than the air temperature and causes the water vapour in the air to condense on the mirror. Some bright spark realised long ago that it if you heated the mirror this would avoid it steaming up, brilliant!

For many years heated mirrors have only featured in very expensive bathrooms usually costing thousands, and quality hotels have used heated mirrors as a neat differentiator from the increasingly popular budget hotels and motels. Of course it is not until you step out of the hotel shower and see yourself in the mirror that you realise it is there! Whilst at the back of your mind you realise this is one of the reasons why this room is more expensive than the other hotel across the street.

Last week I heard the BBC Radio 2 DJ Ken Bruce state that the best shave you ever had will have been in a hotel, to which he attributed the benefit of the heated bathroom mirror as the main reason. I have to agree, and every time I stay in (nice) hotel I always have a really good look at the bathroom with a view to reproducing the best of its features in my own home.

Any bathroom can benefit from demister mirrors creating the feeling of that luxury bathroom. All you need is a power supply routing to the mirror which your local electrician can install for you relatively cheaply, once installed it can also be used for powering a shaver point, or better still buy a heated mirror with a shaver socket built in.

In 1980, ska group The Beat had a UK top ten hit with ‘Mirror in the Bathroom’ and the bathroom is probably the location where we are most intimate with our mirrors. Many will say that it is not wise to look at yourself in the mirror first thing in the morning, but the bathroom is often the first port of call in the morning. Many bathrooms feature a main bathroom mirror positioned on a wall and a bathroom cabinet with mirror doors. Other than the “oh my god” do I really look like that expression, the uses of a mirror or mirrors in a bathroom will generally be to aid the application of make up, hair styling or shaving.

One of the major problems with bathroom mirrors is that after showering or bathing, the mirror is steamed up. A recent addition in the manufacture of heated mirrors is the inclusion of a demister pad which clears the mirror for use in just seconds. Just think never having to again wait for the steam of the bathroom to disappear from the mirror, or having to open the window, before using the mirror to shave or apply make up. The bathroom mirror demister or steam free bathroom mirror is a great invention. Some manufacturers refer to these products as fog free bathroom mirrors and there is now a huge range available, again some with back lights, LED lighting and built in shaver points.

Demister mirrors and steam free bathroom mirrors are not the only recent developments on mirrors. As suggested above another reasonably new product is the illuminated bathroom mirror. Illuminated mirrors maintain the features of a simple mirror, but will enhance any environment in which they are used with the addition of lighting. As with all mirrors, the range of illuminated mirrors is extensive, with a variety of sizes and shapes available. An Illuminated mirror with shaving point can also be purchased. Illuminated bathroom cabinets with or without shaver sockets are also available.

Mirrors with back lit LED lights will enhance any bathroom or environment in which they are installed. Being of low energy consumption LED, or light emitting diode, are more environmentally friendly than traditional bulbs. They are designed to withstand the wetness of the bathroom environment. So steam mist will not cause a problem. As a real luxury mirror, illuminated bathroom mirrors and bathroom mirrors with LED lighting can also include a demister pad, to demist the mirror in just a few seconds and an on/off sensor to activate the lights as soon as motion is detected in front of the mirror. Now bathroom cabinets are also available with inbuilt back lights, and LED lighting for that special something different in your bathroom.

As a bathroom accessory the mirror should come high on the list, in fact can you really have a finished bathroom without a mirror? The enormous selection of styles, types, shapes and sizes means that there must be a mirror to match anyone’s budget. Although some of the latest technological versions such as illuminated, back lit and LED mirrors could be considered to be luxury items, some are not as expensive as you may have thought.

A new LED mirror is available which has a hand sensor built into it so you can turn the lights on or off by waving your hand in front of the sensor.

Mirrors, Superstition and Auspicious Energy Flow

I have always loved mirrors, probably why I have ended up in the mirrors business! When I was at school I did a project on them, this was before the internet was invented mind so I trawled through piles and piles of reference books in both the school and local library for months. These days of course it would only take an hour on Google, kids these days don’t know how easy they’ve got it!

Once you get immersed in mirrors as I did all those years ago, or ‘mirros’ as I frequently misspelled it, and start researching them, you find that they play a major part in all aspects of life. Mirrors also feature in superstitions. One of the most commonly known superstitions is that someone who breaks a mirror will receive seven years bad luck. A popular belief for this superstition is that mirrors are a reflection of the soul and if a mirror is broken, then part of the soul is broken. Added to this, some believe that the soul regenerates every seven years in an unbroken condition, hence the seven years of bad luck. I bet you’ve always wondered what that was about so I’m glad to share that with you!

It is also said that the mirror does not lie. A mirror can show only the truth. It is a very bad omen indeed to see something in a mirror which should not be there, a technique regularly used in scary movies! Some cultures also have a custom that a newborn child should not look into a mirror until its first birthday because its soul is still forming.

In the southern United States, it used to be customary to cover the mirrors in a house where the wake of a deceased person was being held. If a mirror was left uncovered or exposed, people believed that the deceased person’s soul would become trapped in any uncovered mirror. It was also thought that mirrors unexpectedly falling or mysteriously cracking were believed to be haunted.

In the ancient art of Feng Shui mirror placement is considered very important. There is a lot of information available about this, and it is a subject that can’t be covered in a mere paragraph or two here. But Chi energy flow can be influenced by mirrors so where the energy needs to be reflected, mirrors can be used for this to great effect. Personally I don’t really conform to these rules, although my mum has mirrors strategically placed all over her house to redirect in-auspicious energy! One of the principles I do follow though is to make sure I don’t have any mirrors pointing at my bed, or the kids beds, as this is said to reflect your dreams back onto you whilst you are sleeping, which is not a good thing if it’s a nightmare!

Conclusion

A mirror is defined as a coated glass surface for reflecting images. There is a huge range of mirrors for industrial use, and available in many shapes and sizes. The most commonly seen uses of mirrors are for personal grooming and interior decoration. As a race we are thoroughly addicted to mirrors. Who can honestly say that they can walk past a mirror without taking a look at themselves?

Over time, mirrors have evolved from a luxury item to an item of necessity and many especially women will always carry a mirror in their hand bags. However, today with technological advancements, some mirrors will be seen as a luxury, particularly those which include illumination, LED or demisting devices. As individuals we spend many hours of our life in a bathroom, so why not treat yourself to one of life’s little luxuries and indulge in a stylish bathroom mirror? After all, let’s be honest, who can really live without a mirror?

Earn Cash Online with Articles

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Saturday 25 July 2009 2:52 pm

Although there are quite a few different methods that you can use to earn money online, one of the easiest ways for you to get started is by writing articles. As a matter of fact, if you can compose a simple e-mail, you can get started and make money with articles, just using this easy business plan. The only thing that you need is the right kind of program, usually a word processor and determination in order to ensure that you work long enough to see some good results for your work.

Of course, there are a few different things that ought to be considered in order to make sure that you are successful with this process. The first thing is that you need to choose are the proper phrases, something that far too many individuals tend to overlook when they first begin. After all, it would do you absolutely no good if you wrote the perfect article and then ended up not having anyone see it because nobody was looking for it. In order for your articles to work for you, they need to be written on keywords that people are actually looking for.

One other thing that you need to consider is how to put together your articles so that others read them all the way from the start to the end. You must make sure that you leave them hanging at least a little bit so that they end up clicking on the link in your link box and following through to your domain. As long as you are able to do this with success, you would be surprised with how much traffic you can get from article marketing.

Promotional products: Small business swag items

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Friday 24 July 2009 6:21 pm

Swag is a slang term used to describe custom promotional products handed out for free by a company to promote their business. These are often represented by such items as pens, hats, and key chains which depict the company’s logo and tagline. In some instances these items can go a long way in promoting your business. However it is important to understand what types of items are appealing to your customers, and when to give them out.

Imprinted pens are a great item to give out to your customers. These are relatively inexpensive to have made and are useful as well. The nicer the pen is the more likely the customer is to hold on to it and they will always have a reminder of your company and it’s products or services. The great thing about the pen is that even if your customer loses it, the pen still has your company’s logo and tagline on it and it may just find its way into the hands of another prospective client.

Promotional tote bags are another great piece of swag which your company can hand out to customers. They are a little more pricey to create, but again they are useful and create a statement of profitability about your organization because they are an out of the ordinary form of promotional item.

It is important to know when to hand these items out. In too many instances a company might hand these items out like candy and salesmen are the biggest offenders. However, one thing to remember is that these items cost money to produce and it is not wise to hand them out to just any prospective customer. It would be a good idea to give them out to existing customers as a show of appreciation for their business, or in those situations where it is highly probable that a company or individual will become your customer.

Some companies will offer items such as t-shirts and baseball caps. These are great a great way to promote your business as well. Like the coffee mugs, this can be an expensive proposition, and it depends entirely on how much you have set aside in your budget for advertising. Of course, if the budget allows you may want to consider jackets, or pullovers as items to give away to your customers. Remember the better the swag, the more likely your customers will keep it and use it.

Another great promotional item would be golf balls. These can be imprinted with the company logo and tagline. They are very useful and relatively cheap to have printed. Many individuals like to play golf and it is always good to receive free golf supplies. The one thing about golf balls is that they are sometimes lost on golf courses, however, many times they are found. It works as a sort of advertisement recycling program.

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Friday 24 July 2009 2:54 pm

When the time has come to promote your site, there are a number of things you can do. If you’re in Western Washington, and are looking for a Seattle SEO company, call GSEP.COM at 1-800-851-7666.

PPC, PTC, SEO, EIEIO (Ha!) and more. (FYI, those acronyms stand for, in order, Pay Per Click, Pay To Click, SEO and Old McDonald’s Farm). It can all be confusing.

The organic or natural rankings that that show up in the main part of the results pages of Google and most other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo & AOL are the most trusted. When I say organic, I mean the results that are not PPC or Pay Per Click.

When you look at the SERPs, or Search Engine Results Pages (the pages that show up when you’ve done a search – the pages that show the results of your search) they show PPC results as well as organic results. So, it can be confusing.

Those that occupy the majority of the left hand portion of the SERPs are the organic ranking.

Google, for example, has Sponsored Links above the main body of organic results. Google also has Sponsored Links, vertically, on the right portion of the page. The other engines are similar. The “Organic Results”, which most say the real results, are on the left, below the PPC listings.

How does one gettop organic rankings?

1) On page optimization, also known as SEO. You’ll want to make sure that your page has everything that the engine (in this case, Google) wants. It could be Yahoo, MSN, AOL, whatever. Read, study, hire a professional (such as the SEO Seattle company, GSEP.COM).

2) Blogs. You must get posts out here in the Blogosphere.

3) Internal links within your website. Have links, with the most important keywords, pointing to your home page or to a particular page you’ve had specifically designed to rank highly for an important term.

4) Link partners. You should work to institute a program to increase the amount of links linking in from outside your site.

Do these things, and more, and you’re well on the way to top SEO rankings. If you’re looking for a top SEO Seattle company, take a look at Guaranteed Search Engine Positioning at GSEP.COM.

More than you want to know about tapeworms

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Friday 24 July 2009 1:44 pm

What are tape worms?

Tape worms in dogs and cats are intestinal parasites. Because they are classified as cestodes, they belong to a different family of worms than hookworms and roundworms (called nematodes).

The most common tapeworm of dogs and cats is called Dipylidium caninum. This parasite attaches to the small intestinal wall by hook-like mouthparts. Eventually, adult tapeworms may reach several inches in length. As the adult matures, individual segments (proglottids) break off from the main body of the tapeworm and pass into the stool.

What is the life cycle of tapeworms in cats?

Tapeworms are internal parasites, infecting all types of mammals, including humans and domestic animals. Their life cycles are very complex. They require one intermediate host and a final or definitive host in which to reproduce. The final host is considered the animal in which the adult tapeworm lives.

The segments, full of eggs, are passed in the stool. While warm, the segments are active, but as they dry, they break open and liberate the eggs inside. Either an adult louse or a flea larva ingests the eggs. The egg develops into an immature form in the insect. When a dog or cat eats the insect, the immature form develops into an adult and the life cycle is completed.

How did my dog or cat get tape worms?

By swallowing a flea infected with a tapeworm larvae.

This process begins when tapeworm eggs are swallowed by flea larvae (an immature stage of the flea). Contact between flea larvae and tapeworm eggs is thought to occur most frequently in contaminated bedding or carpet.

Next, the pet chews or licks its self as a flea bites; the flea is then ingested. As the flea is digested within the pet’s intestine, the tapeworm hatches and anchors itself to the intestinal lining.

Obviously the secret to never having tapeworms back again is to get rid of fleas. Unless the fleas are gone, the pets will continue to be reinfested with tape worms.

Integrated 4 Part Threrapy meant for Autism

Posted by admin | Walk Around | Thursday 23 July 2009 4:20 pm

There appear to be hundreds of therapies for autism on the marketplace today then “on the marketplace” seems to be the reason – money. aspergers

Nevertheless, there is no real integration of any of these therapies in addition to little information intended for the “poor” parents with an autistic child (and “poor” is often correct as autism is a “bankrupting disease”). about autism

There are four different basic problems with four uncommon therapies needed to solve them and work towards any treatment or recoverys. These are:

Mercury and other heavy metal toxins

Allergies and food sensitivities

Digestive (gut) problems

Inadequate nutrition

Dealing with Heavy Metal toxicity.

This is the major dilemma and not many doctors really understand it. Measuring heavy metal, particularly in an autistic infant or child is no simple matter. Hardly any MDs are aware that the autistic patients are ALWAYS short in any chelating material in the blood, such as Vitamin C, or glutathione. (At every autism congress, there are several booths, each extolling a diverse way to acquire expensive glutathione into an autistic child. Vitamin C is cheaper and superior.) asperger’s syndrome

The doctor takes blood or urine sample, then runs a mineral assay, comparing the heavy metals to the dietary minerals within the blood stream. They believe that this is somewhat precise, BUT IT’S NOT!

Know that the function of the liver is to filter these toxic minerals out of the blood so that they cannot develop near the brain where they can actually kill brain cells. After the toxins are filtered into the liver, some are gradually shifted to supplementary safe storage areas of the body. However, with a significant load of mercury, such as multiple vaccines, added to what’s previously in the liver, the liver might not be able to handle it all then brain cells are damaged or killed. (Check the mother’s mercury level as well.)

The liver is under faithful instructions NEVER to discharge these toxins until and unless some chelation substance is present in the bloodstream. A chelating substance combines with the heavy metal, and alters it to a harmless chemical that is water soluble, and it can be filtered out via the kidneys and urine passageway.

So, if blood is measured, what is in fact measured is simply what the liver can release (if a chelate is present, a short time behind the chelate is sensed). Blood then may have at that time and for some time after, a fair amount of the toxin. Urine takes this similar amount out of the body after it has been filtered out by the kidneys. (Adults may be measured added accurately by hair analysis.) So, if you followed the above, you can perceive that with an autistic child it is further than likely any measurement of mercury or lead will show a false negative – that is actually lower than toxicity.

How can you develop a more precise or at least NOT a fictitious negative reading? Pre-load your child with Vitamin C. I recommend vitamin C for several reasons: It’s cheap; it’s antiviral and antibacterial; and the solitary bad side effect is diarrhea, even for infants.

Since vitamin C lone lasts four hours, I would load up to 1 gram (1000mg) each four hours for each 50 pounds of child. If, or when, the child gets diarrhea, lower that amount until just below the point where diarrhea starts. (That’s called “bowel tolerance”). If the patient shows toxic for heavy metal, start chelating and continue until tests show a level way below noxious. This may take up to a year or added. Remember that this is very slow and safe, and it takes a long time to obtain all of it out of storage and released into the blood. I’ve seen continued high heavy metal toxicity 6 months or a year after starting this chelation.

There are many different chelators on the marketplace and some of them are advertised as fast. I’m not convinced that these really are that fast, or they just acquire the toxin out of the liver, and leave it in the stored fatty areas. I still recommend vitamin C as the cheapest and best chelator for the reasons above. For chelation purposes, I used 10 grams per day in split dosages for adults, and modified that for children, often using bowel tolerance as a measure.

If each pregnant mother were tested for noxious minerals at start of pregnancy and started chelation if noxious, it could easily end this autism “epidemic”. I believe that if pregnant women took 4 grams of vitamin C and a good multi vitamin all thru pregnancy, they would give birth to healthy babies!

Here’s some good news – using vitamin C this way, your child or even infant will NOT get colds or flu while on these quantitys of vitamin C. Nor would pregnant women.

Allergies & Sensitivities

Every child with ADD to Autism has further allergies than the average kids, and they develop further than the average amount of food and chemical sensitivities due to “Leaky Gut Syndrome”.

Here’s the downward spiral progression. It starts with huge stress. Stress is additive, so start with mercury (leading cause of autism today), add in a genetic tendency towards allergies, and “normal” living stress. This additive amount requires extra vitamins and amino acids just to handle the effects.

However, the autistic infant or child is a very picky and difficult eater and in our culture today, malnutrition is a given for most children. Too often, the lone food wanted by an autistic child is not what they need for. Fast food is not good nutrition!

In order to acquire added needed nutrition, the brain tells the gut to open up a bit and let more amino acids thru to the bloodstream. This allows longer strings of amino acids (peptides) to enter the blood. Some of these peptide strings are so long that the brain thinks that they might be dangerous bacteria, so it develops “sensitivity” to whatever caused that long string to develop in. This is called “Leaky Gut Syndrome”. Since some of the first foods fed to infants are milk and bread, it’s easy to see why the GFCF (Gluten Free Casein Free) diet helps so many. The Leaky Gut Syndrome was responsible!

Also see that these new allergies add further stress to the mix, and the spiral continues downward? Allergy testing and cure is very expensive and difficult to develop correct at best. In 2000, I first proposed the theory “Raising the SMR brainwave somehow changes the brain affect from allergens”. This theory is the single viable theory today as to how EEG Biofeedback (NFB) and Neuroliminal Training (NT) work, and there are many stories that confirm this theory

My favorite story concerns twin boys about 9 yrs old. The mother was concerned about using NT as the boys slept in the same room. I assured her that lone good was possible, and about 2 months later she reported that the one was cured of ADHD and the other no longer had ragweed hay fever!

Personally, my wife and I have been using one or another NT CD. as I have developed and improved them, for 5 years. I no longer suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis (Peanuts), nor neuralgia (Soy), nor Hay Fever (Ragweed) and overweight (wheat). My wife had a headache within a minute or less of eating any form of corn. She now eats corn on the cob and popcorn without a predicament. At 64, she lost adequate weight to again wear bikinis, (and she can and does).

Most people continue to use the NT CD’s long after the particular problem has been solved, and I have to believe that the longer it’s used, the more allergies are solved. That’s certainly been the case for us.

For this part of the therapy, of course I recommend the Autism CD package. EEG biofeedback, or Neurofeedback (as it’s often called now) will also work, but it’s so expensive as to be prohibitive for autism with over 200 visits to a clinic required. Compare that to $147 total cost for NT.

Digestive (gut) problems

First realize that your internal body and your digestive system (gut) are utterly separate, and must be so to work as designed. The gut has bacteria and toxins that are poisonous to the internal body. Compare the two systems to a doughnut. The gut is the hole, and not really a piece of the body, but a doughnut isn’t really a doughnut without a hole.

The proper gut bacteria are absolutely essential to good digestion. If you take an antibiotic, some of it goes into the gut, and kills some essential bacteria, while not affecting fungus or yeast. In a really healthy person, maybe you can re-grow that necessary bacteria colony, but probably not. Maybe, that particular area is taken over by fungus or yeast cells. The gut can’t work at normal efficiency, and not adequate necessary nutrition is getting thru. Does the term “Leaky Gut Syndrome” sound familiar?

Antibiotics can be good things, but they are not all good. Each time anyone takes any internal antibacterial pill or capsule, they should start an Acidophilous regime after they stop the antibiotic.

Here’s what I recommend: Start with 5 capsules of Acidophilous (found in your health food store in the refrigerator). Wait for two days, and if gas and cramps are not too bad or gone, go up to 10 capsules. Try to take with some milk product (got to feed the troops going to war). If no serious gas or cramping occurs, go up to 20 capsules each other day for 2- 3 times, depending on the color and smell as described under. This is what I recommend for an adult, modify for a child.

Here’s the fun part. You have to monitor the color of the stool. It’ll start out pretty dark and smelly. As you progress, it will obtain lighter and less smelly (less yeast and further good bacteria). By the 5th or 6th dosage, it should be yellowish brown, or orange brown, and be much less smelly.

Repeat whenever any antibiotic is taken that can develop into the gut. (Shots and external don’t count.)

Inadequate Nutrition

This along with the mercury quandary is the hardest to perform correctly. There are many opinions on this, and there are beginning to be some solutions. We know that the B and C vitamins and some amino acids are needed most.

I have a chemist friend who has concocted a “rub-on” sort of lotion that can provide various vitamins and amino acids, but it’s not cheap, and is still out of the reach of most autistic budgets. He has developed such a regimen for getting necessary nutrition into gastric bypass patients, and many such surgeons use his suppositories and lotions. I’ll have further information on my website if I can develop him to sit down and start some web pages of his own.

If you can get pills into an autistic child, go with at least a 50 mg B complex daily. If not, develop capsules, open them up, and mix the powder into juice. You can perform the same with vitamin C, and even dissolve Acidophilous into yoghurt or bottled milk.

Do not use the cheap “protein” food. That’s just powdered milk and egg. Get the real mix of amino acids that has the “predigested” form. It’s further expensive, but it provides real nutrition, no matter what the condition of the gut. In my former practice, I delighted in reversing senility (a few of which had been diagnosed as Alzheimer’s) with such a diet.

The above is the first step toward sufficient nutrition to stop “Leaky Gut Syndrome”, which results in even added allergy stress, requiring even more good nutrition.

If you do all the above steps together, I guarantee that you will observe amazing progress. I guarantee “noticeable improvement” just from my NT Autism CD package within 8 weeks, or your money back. This integrated therapy will make for even more progress, and make it possible for some behavior therapy towards normalcy to really work.

Before attepting to try any of the advised procedures in the above article, you should consult your family physician.
